Accidental Broken Window Puts Emphasis On Home Security

Totally on accident this weekend I broke one of the smaller windows in my house. Since it was a small window my first thought was to just patch it with tape and cardboard. Glad I chose otherwise.

So, I was washing the inside of a small window and pressed a little too hard and broke it. It's kind of an out-of-the-way window, so my first thought was that it would be no big deal if I just patched the window. Almost immediately I knew I was thinking wrongly about the whole thing.

House burglars look for vulnerabilities, and a patched window with cardboard and duct tape is a dead giveaway that entry into the house will be relatively easy. Immediately, I went to a local home improvement store. The window was standard size and it was easily replaced for just a few dollars.

Home security is all about the little details. Combined, the equal a strong security plan. Paired with a monitored ADT security alarm system, your home can be secure against fires, smoke damage, floods, and of course home burglaries.
